Donate Online
For many, online donation is the simplest way to give. Here is the procedure:
- Visit UMBC Giving, then enter some basic information about yourself (name, affiliation to UMBC, email address). Click Save & Continue in the lower left corner.
- On the following page, fill in your donation amount*, then in the Designation field, choose “Other – Please designate below.” In the “Other Designation” field, type “David Smith Fund.”
- You will immediately receive an email confirmation of your gift, followed by a Thank You and receipt from UMBC within a few weeks, which may be tax deductible.
*You are able to setup recurring donations monthly, quarterly, etc.
Donate by Mail
If you choose to donate by mail, checks should be made payable to the UMBC Foundation and mailed along with a completed gift form to:

You can find the gift form here. Be sure to write the name of your gift designation “David Smith Fund” in the memo area of the check.
The funds raised will be administered by the UMBC Foundation for the benefit of the David W. Smith Fund for Vocal Arts in the Department of Music.
